Who Is Torre?
Torre DeRoche is the author of ‘Love with a Chance of Drowning,’ a travel memoir that originally began as a blog.
After self-publishing her book in 2011, DeRoche’s book was discovered on Twitter by a Hollywood movie producer, as well as a UK publisher. With two offers already on the table, DeRoche quickly landed a NYC literary agent, who sold the book to five publishers throughout the world. The book will be rereleased in June of 2013.
Torre De Roche is one of my favourite writers. Period.
Her blog is a collection of interesting stories and best practices.

The Illustrated Guide to Calming the F@#! Down
This is a journey inwards. Over the course of the coming months, Torre DeRoche and Sarah Steenland are going to be spanning topics from our inner-most world of the body, through to the environment we live in, right out to our outer most world of the universe – all through the lens of fear and anxiety.
This series works a bit like an advent calendar. Each week or two, a new part of the illustration above will become active. Stories will be told through personal narrative, gathered ideas, art, research and absurdism.
Her Books
Love With A Chance Of Drowing
A city girl with a morbid fear of deep water, Torre DeRoche is not someone you would ordinarily find adrift in the middle of the stormy Pacific aboard a leaky sailboat – total crew of two – struggling to keep an old boat, a new relationship and her floundering sanity afloat.
Set against a backdrop of the world’s most beautiful and remote destinations, Love with a Chance of Drowning is a sometimes hilarious, often moving and always brave memoir that proves there are some risks worth taking.
